Remote maintenance and online meetings

We use the “TeamViewer” software for remote maintenance and presentations. This program transmits the screen contents of a Barthauer employee to your computer for presentation purposes, or your screen contents to the computer of a Customer Service employee for support services.

Security and prerequisites

Remote access applications are always 100 percent rights-based; remote access can be tracked and followed by the participant. The participant can stop or pause the action at any time.

In general TeamViewer works whenever surfing the Internet is possible. This means no firewall configuration is required. As an alternative to port 80 HTTP, port 443 HTTPs is tried as well. Only opening port 5938 TCP outgoing is also possible. Then the data traffic on this port should be able to pass unhindered.
