BARTHAUER at IFAT with its own exhibition stand and a varied consulting concept

Barthauer Software GmbH is planning a joint program with numerous cooperation partners at this year’s IFAT 2022. At exhibition stand B2.153, the software company based in Braunschweig is presenting established IT solutions, new developments and future-oriented cooperation projects during the world-leading trade fair for the water, wastewater, waste and raw materials industry. The exhibition stand concept is once again being realised jointly with the partner DHI.

The time has finally come again: From May 30th to June 3rd, the IFAT international trade fair is opening its doors in Munich. Barthauer Software GmbH will be represented with its own exhibition stand, presenting the latest developments for BaSYS – the integrative and scalable infrastructure management system. The ten-member trade fair team consisting of sales, development and consulting experts will be advising interested parties with regard to the comprehensive functions of the BaSYS software as well as the selection of services.

Special partnership with DHI

DHI and BARTHAUER already shared an exhibition stand in hall B2 at the last IFAT in 2018. The success story of this development partnership continues in 2022. Similarities are incorporated in the exhibition stand design and concept along with elements separating the two companies.

DHI’s core competency lies in the digitalisation, modelling and visualisation of water systems, with a focus on digital services. With the joint product BaSYS MIKE, all hydrodynamic calculations required for the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance and rehabilitation of drainage systems outside of buildings can be performed directly in the BaSYS database, with no duplication of data and with direct access to all simulation results. The BaSYS data can also be transferred to the “MIKE by DHI” product family over an appropriate interface and, for example, coupled modelling for heavy rainfall hazard analysis can be carried out and visualised in QGIS.

Focus topics, trade fair highlights and special guests

The ongoing further development of the core product BaSYS, new workflows and progressive modules are focal points of this year’s trade fair presentation. BaSYS opera, the new web solution for operations and maintenance management, is being presented along with BaSYS maps, the modern GIS information solution from BARTHAUER.

Augmented reality visualisation with BaSYS

Augmented reality (AR) is an exciting, emerging new topic that is increasingly gaining importance in the infrastructure sector. With the help of modern mobile devices, AR allows objects to be virtually embedded in reality, making them very easy for people to access. At this year’s IFAT, BARTHAUER is presenting the prototype of an AR application that shows sewer objects. The objects are generated live from the high-performance BaSYS database and are available directly in the system, with no intermediate steps. Cumbersome exports are eliminated. Accurate 3D representation of the objects in the database therefore offers a whole new user experience.

3D representation of wastewater systems from the BaSYS database

Graphic data processing under Revit is another BIM module of the infrastructure management system BaSYS. Wastewater systems can be visualised in Revit directly from the database, with no additional data transfers. Both 2D and 3D modelling are supported for administration and visualisation of the facilities. The system layout can be broken down to individual structural parts such as the base of the shaft, cone and cover. Graphical editing of the structural part configuration optimises the design processes for new planning or rehabilitation. Thanks to the database-driven administration of all elements, the generated data are available for further tasks in BaSYS. This includes a transfer of the changed data via IFC.

In addition to the product-specific solutions and innovations that unify technical data from a wide variety of fields, there will be a greater focus on the networking of human knowledge in this year’s trade fair presentation. The following meet & greets are planned at the BARTHAUER exhibition stand:

Meet & greet with Katrin Herber, bluemetric software GmbH: Calculation of separate wastewater fees with BaSYS GAG

Cooperation with bluemetric software GmbH resulted in the application BaSYS GAG (separate wastewater fee). Both companies set themselves apart with comprehensive know-how and many years of experience in engineering, IT and software development. They continue to work on a shared vision of solutions for specialist users to meet sanitary environmental engineering needs. With the first joint product BaSYS GAG, administrative objects and sealed areas can be recorded in all common GIS and CAD systems and assigned to an owner or administrator. The calculation of amounts is automated based on the stored fee schedule. BaSYS GAG generates payment notices, form letters and statistical evaluation reports at the push of a button. Katrin Herber, Managing Director of bluemetric software GmbH, will be available for consultations at the BARTHAUER exhibition stand on Wednesday, 1 June 2022 from 1 to 5 pm.

Meet & greet with Christian Koch, Co-Founder Hades Technologies AG: Artificial intelligence in the sewer

AI comes to the sewer with HADES. The technology is used for the evaluation of visual, digital sewer and manhole inspection videos. Damage of all kinds is automatically identified by the algorithm, localised and quantified in more than 300 main and sub-classes of the European coding standard. The software systems are optimally coordinated with each other through cooperation and by combining the competencies and products of BARTHAUER and Hades. Thanks to the consistent and accurate condition coding of Hades, condition classification and rehabilitation design are carried out more efficiently in BaSYS PISA. Christian Koch, Co-Founder of Hades Technologies AG, will be available for consultations at the BARTHAUER exhibition stand on Thursday, 2 June 2022 from 1 to 5 pm.

IoT application for standpipe management developed with EWE-Armaturen

BARTHAUER has developed a web application for the administration of water supply standpipes in cooperation with EWE-Armaturen. In addition to administration and the loan process for the standpipes, it supports operational control for the smart EWE NEXT standpipes via GPS position-finding and online documentation of the respective counter readings. GSM or LoRaWAN, NBIoT and LTE-M are used for data transmission. Aside from an alphanumeric view of the data with direct access to standpipes on loan, available or in maintenance, the current position of the smart standpipes can be checked and tracked with an integrated GIS component based on an Open Street Map. Thus the user can identify unauthorised use and the associated unauthorised withdrawal of water.

Make an appointment and get your day ticket

Not only customers but also interested parties who want to inform themselves about BaSYS and the described projects can reserve an IFAT day ticket in 2022 through BARTHAUER. Individual and specific needs can be discussed in the course of a personal appointment. For further registration details, visit www.barthauer.de/ifat. The BARTHAUER trade fair team is already looking forward to an exciting event and many personal encounters.
