The continuity of Barthauer Software GmbH is secure. An internal succession plan ensures the stability and continuity of the provider of innovative software for infrastructure and water management. Dipl.-Ing. Jürgen Barthauer was able to address the issue of succession planning in advance with entrepreneurial foresight.

Jürgen Barthauer: “After leading the company as Managing Director and majority shareholder for nearly 30 years, I was able to agree with Anis Saad on an internal company succession plan, placing the future of the company into proven hands.”

Dipl.-Inform. Anis Saad joined the company as a student trainee in September of 1991, first working as a software developer and later as head of the software production department. During his time with the company, he made a major contribution to the successful development of the BARTHAUER software. This not only includes the database-driven network information system BaSYS, but also GeoDS which offers the building blocks for individual information systems. Anis Saad has held shares in the company as a shareholder since 2002 and became its second Managing Director in 2015.

Anis Saad: “I had the opportunity to successfully lead the company as Managing Director in the last two years. It is a pleasure for me to take over a company that is running well, and I know it is healthy. After all, I worked at strengthening the market position myself for years as Head of Software Development. Naturally I am going to continue ensuring consistent growth.”

Anis Saad now holds 70 per cent of the company’s shares, Jürgen Barthauer 26 per cent and Markus Wöhling (Head of Software Production) 4 per cent. Responsibilities have changed as well. Even though Jürgen Barthauer is continuing on as a member of company management, he has already passed a large part of the responsibilities on to Anis Saad and remains responsible for Marketing and Business Development going forward.

Successfully passing the baton to Anis Saad is a clear signal for customers and employees that the company continues to be a player in the market and a reliable partner for the future.
