UC3: Participants benefit from the transfer of know-how and Germany triumphs over Oranje

We looked forward UC3, the third BaSYS User Conference in Düsseldorf, with great anticipation. Not only the new feature of workshops held in parallel but also the European Championship preliminary round game of Germany against the Netherlands caused excitement. In retrospect it was a success all along the line: The participants praised the new workshops and Germany won 2:1.

The time had finally come again! BARTHAUER held the UC – the BaSYS User Conference – for the third time already on 13 and 14 June 2012. This year’s venue was the NH Hotel Düsseldorf City. 50 attending users and experts gathered to discuss the practical use of the network information system BaSYS. Not only informative technical presentations from a wide variety of specialist fields were on the agenda. With a practical orientation, clients and partners of Barthauer Software GmbH showed how they solve problems with BaSYS or use it day to day.

The possible applications to prevent a disaster and mobile use on the ground were shown among other things. This year the conference programme was expanded for the first time with four workshops held in parallel. Experienced users and those who want to be interactively got to know BaSYS and its possibilities even better. Often the first reaction was “What, it’s that simple?”. One participant summed it up nicely on the assessment form at the end of the event: “No matter what the sewer topic may be, BaSYS covers it. BaSYS makes sewer management easy.”

Time for networking was offered repeatedly aside from the conference blocks – during the coffee reception before the conference, the coffee breaks in between, and the shared lunch on Thursday. One participant praised the fact that questions, tips and tricks for the use of the Barthauer software could therefore be reviewed, discussed and worked out with other users and the BARTHAUER experts.

The evening event at UC3 was dedicated entirely to the European Championship. Not only Germany but also BARTHAUER was all about football and invited the participants to BARTHAUER’s own viewing in a rustic brewery in the heart of “the longest bar in the world”. So not only a meal was shared but also the hope for victory by the German eleven. We all followed the game on a big screen and in the end enjoyed the well-earned win of the German team over Oranje all the more.

We very much enjoyed organising UC3. Thank you to the participants for all the positive feedback! We are already looking forward to UC4 next year that much more!
