Anyone who generates or uses XML data is familiar with the problem: While the new exchange format is much more flexible and also able to support the European DIN EN 13508-2 standard, finding and editing individual data fields in an XML file is not that easy. Reviewing the file for an error-free XML format is difficult as well. This is where the PIETS test software can help.
PIETS transforms data exchange formats for recognised standards (ISYBAU or DWA M-150) into an XML format or reads them directly in the XML format. The structure and data of the XML file are checked automatically. Object-specific navigation in the data is supported. The editing areas (in table form and as an XML section) are opened interactively from the test, object and XML navigation area.
PIETS has a three-tier structure! In addition to reviewing the structure and contents, PIETS also supports specific editing and the automatic conversion of other formats into the XML format. Thus data originators and data users can precede every data import with a general format check and the possible correction of individual files. PIETS therefore enables fast quality control of the data supplier on the one hand and self-monitoring to ensure the quality of own work on the other hand. “We designed PIETS as a tool to ensure the interoperability between data formats. Today PIETS not only supports ISYBAU but is also available for DWA M 150 formats,” says Daniel Beckmann, Head of Research & Development at BARTHAUER.
PIETS XML tests XML files for structural errors and content plausibility. This means that both clients and contractors can be sure.
PIETS Editing fulfils the function of a text editor. It navigates directly to errors in the XML file that can then be corrected by the user.

With PIETS Transformation ISYBAU users can convert files in the older ISYBAU formats such as 01/96 or 06/01 to the XML format. This includes source data as well as hydraulics, condition and rainwater management data.
